Dr. John E. Sarno, Professor of Rehabilitation Medicine at New York University School of Medicine has been an inspiring, creative and innovative leader in the field of Mindbody Medicine. In his books, “The Mindbody Prescription”, “Healing Back Pain, and his latest “The Divided Mind”, Dr. Sarno has outlined his extensive knowledge and vast experience treating patients with psychosomatic disorders and TMS in particular.

His view of the connection between mind and body is incorporated in the work of Dr. Arlene Feinblatt, a psychologist who has been in practice since 1973. Dr. Sarno stated “Arlene Feinblatt, Ph.D. has been my colleague and coworker for over thirty years. By dint of circumstance, she is a pioneer in the development of psychotherapy for psychosomatic disorders. Since no one in the field of psychology or psychiatry has had extensive experience with the musculoskeletal pain of psychosomatic origin, and since as a consequence there is no guiding literature on the subject, and in view of the fact that that this ailment represents a public health problem of major proportions, it was essential to develop appropriate psychotherapy for these patients. Dr. Feinblatt has done that job admirably. She has also trained a large cadre of therapists over the years.”
