I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC #9099) and a member in good standing with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). I received my Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology (Marriage, Family, and Child Counselling) in 1999 from Pepperdine University in Los Angeles, CA, and a PhD in Medical Sciences in 2008 from Poznan University of Medical Sciences, Poland.
I am fascinated by the brain and body connection and the immense possibilities that arise when we open ourselves to learning and understanding how various psychoneurobiological mechanisms work, how our environments and circumstances have shaped us and continue to do so, and how we can harness the power of that understanding towards change. I specialize in working with people living with chronic/persistent pain, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome and other psychophysiologic disorders, PTSD, anxiety and depression.
My overriding clinical orientation honours: the mind-body connection, neurobiology, somatic, experiential, psychodynamic, existential-humanistic approaches, and the bio-psycho-socio- spiritual nature of our lives. I use variety of approaches such as Pain Reprocessing Therapy, Sensorimotor and Somatic Experiencing Therapies, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), Neurobiological Approach, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Applied Polyvagal Theory and others.
