Mike is an experienced CFO and board member with in-depth experience in all facets of financial and operations management and a record of success in significantly growing enterprise value. He has served as CFO of both private and public companies and has taken a business from being early stage, venture capital backed, through private equity to ultimately becoming a public company. Mike has worked in a variety of industries and completed numerous acquisitions. He has expertise in recurring revenue businesses and possesses in-depth expertise in the security and home automation/IoT space.

Mike served as CFO of Brinks Home Security from 1996 to 2017 where he was involved in all aspects of growing Brinks from a small venture capital backed start-up with $6 million in revenue and 20,000 customers to over $550 million in revenue and one million customers. At Brinks he led finance, accounting, human resources, IT and operations functions, and had broad public company responsibility.  

Mike currently is an Executive Director for Ethos Capital, a private investment organization that focuses on companies in which technology can be used to automate, optimize and transform traditional business models into faster growing, more efficient organizations. Mike is an Adjunct Professor at Texas Christian University teaching an MBA case study course on various corporate finance topics.

Mike also serves on the boards of the following organizations:

  • MobileHelp, a leader in Mobile Personal Emergency Response technology

  • Brinks Home Security, a leading security alarm and home automation company

  • Literacy Texas (as Treasurer) which provides leadership to community-based organizations that offer literacy services and adult education programs

Additional experience includes five years in public accounting with Arthur Anderson and Touche Ross. Mike holds an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin and a BBA in business and BA in economics from Southern Methodist University.
