Michelle is a Physician Assistant in both Mind Body Medicine and Orthopedics and is also a Somatic Coach at Cormendi Health. She has over 2,000 hours of training in mind body practices, including yoga therapy, Pain Care Yoga, Trauma Informed Yoga, Pain Reprocessing Therapy, and body based psychotherapy. She graduated the top of her class at both University of Colorado Boulder and Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science and quickly found her training in mind body healing was essential in her work as a Physician Assistant. Her training in Somatic Experiencing is the foundation of her approach to somatic coaching, offering an experiential body based approach to healing mind body symptoms.
Michelle has her own personal experience with pain, and that has been the fuel for her focused career on educating about pain neuroscience and leading patients in practices to increase their own capacity to heal pain. She has special interest in working with nervous system patterns in the body as a way to increase awareness and resiliency. At the heart of her work is the idea that creating a relationship with the body and using it as a resource can have a profound effect on mental, emotional, and physical health.
Breath and Body Sessions: Sessions with Michelle can take many forms depending on needs and goals, but all involve practice. Being with the experience of the body, we bring awareness to habitual nervous system responses that are present, experiment with strategies for altering those responses to better serve you, and make connections with how this informs your continued healing moving forward. Sessions may involve general body awareness, somatic tracking related to pain or how emotions or thoughts are experienced in the body, breathwork, relaxation strategies, or movement.

In addition to practicing in orthopedics, she offers mind body health coaching in the treatment of persistent pain and other chronic symptoms.
